Does Laser Hair Removal Allow Me to Never Have to Shave Again?

Does Laser Hair Removal Allow Me to Never Have to Shave Again?

We spend more time than we care to admit on our hair — whether that hair is wanted or not. And bad hair days aren’t reserved for the hair on top of your head. Body hair along your bikini line, covering your legs, and even pesky whiskers on your lips and chin can quickly ruin an otherwise perfect aesthetic.

What if we told you there’s a way you never had to deal with unwanted body hair ever again?

Dr. Divina Averilla and our team at Love Your Body Medical Spa are here to show you how laser hair removal could have you tossing your traditional hair removal methods for good.

How does laser hair removal work?

For years you’ve been painstakingly cutting your hairs with a razor or using hot wax to rip them out at the roots. We understand if it’s a bit overwhelming to swap those familiar methods for a high-tech option.

But if you’re looking to really take control over your unwanted body hair, lasers are the best way to go.

Laser hair removal works by delivering pulses of high-intensity light deep into your hair follicles to remove pesky hairs. We customize your treatment based on the location, thickness, and color of your hair, both to avoid discomfort and target your hair more effectively.

What’s best is laser hair removal can go virtually anywhere your razor or wax strips can go, including your bikini line, arms, underarms, legs, eyebrows, upper lip, and chin.

Will I ever have to shave again?

We’re proud to report that many of our patients enjoy hair-free skin after 3-7 hair removal sessions. That’s because our lasers penetrate deep into the hair follicle, disrupt the hair growth process, and prevent hairs from growing back.

Traditional removal methods that cut or rip out the hairs still allow new hairs to grow back in a matter of days.

Typically, we schedule each session about 4-6 weeks apart, which means you could be hair-free within the year. Though it takes a few rounds to get the permanent results you’re looking for, you can rest assured that your hair will grow back thinner and finer after your first session.

What should I expect?

Are you ready to go all in with laser hair removal? Here’s what you can expect.

During your procedure, you recline comfortably and wear light-blocking glasses to protect your eyes. We carefully trim down your hair to give us easier access to the roots. Then, Dr. Averilla presses the handheld wand against your skin and pulses the laser on and off.

You may feel a mild warming or snapping sensation (much like a rubber band) on your skin, but once it’s over, you can get right back to your regular routine. Depending on the size of the treatment area, you could get laser hair removal in as little as 10 minutes.

Side effects from laser hair removal are mild and easy to manage. At most, you may experience some redness or swelling for the first few hours. You can find relief by applying a cold compress to the treatment area and wearing comfortable, loose-fitting clothes to allow the area to breathe.

How should I prepare?

The good news is that you don't have to do much to prepare for laser hair removal, but there are a few things you can do to make your appointment go as smoothly as possible. Some things we recommend include:

It’s also a good idea to skip shaving before your appointment. We take care of all the prep work when you get to our office, so come as you are.

Don’t spend another moment or dollar on hair removal methods that don’t work, and start taking control of your body hair with laser hair removal. Call our friendly staff at 702-342-0028 or use our online booking tool to schedule an appointment at our Las Vegas, Nevada, office today.
